Irvine, Ca. (May 18, 2020) MyShoperoo has launched an on-demand weekly shopping service in Orange County for residents and businesses.
MyShoperoo Essentials, which is servicing all 34 OC cities, eliminates time-consuming trips to the grocery store and guarantees more than 50 items for delivery every week. In a boost to the local economy, products are supplied by independent Mom-and-Pop grocery stores and neighborhood restaurants experiencing less demand due to the coronavirus.
“We launched this membership service to help families and individual consumers get the essential items they need every week without taking an extra trip to the store,” said MyShoperoo Founder Krishna Vanka. “MyShoperoo Essentials can also be utilized by apartment complexes, businesses and institutional settings, such as schools, senior housing and assisted-living facilities.”
Essential items include milk, eggs, bread, produce, toilet paper and face masks. The following key differentiators separate MyShoperoo Essentials from other delivery services.
· SAFETY: Reduced touch points. Suppliers receive orders and assemble selected items before they’re displayed in-store. One shopkeeper or restaurant worker organizes the order and loads it directly into our drivers’ vehicles curbside, eliminating walk-ins and extra handling.
· LOCAL: Helping small and family-owned businesses boost demand in this unprecedented time.
· TRANSPARENCY: No order minimums, hidden product markups or added one-time delivery/service fees.
· RELIABILITY: Scheduled delivery every week, without the need to book from allotted time slots.
The on-demand Shopping-as-a-Service is easy to use. Just download the MyShoperoo app, register, select items and submit the order by 1 p.m. every Monday for that week. Delivery date/time alerts will be sent via text messages and app notifications. All drivers are supplied with antibacterial hand gel, and face masks to wear during pickups and deliveries.
MyShoperoo expanded services from on-demand errands for businesses to consumer deliveries after receiving feedback from existing customers. Some wanted more free time, while others wanted to minimize potential exposure to COVID-19 and reduce risk for loved ones. Vanka saw an opportunity to connect consumers to local businesses after watching neighborhood stores and restaurants lose demand amid the pandemic, causing some of them to shutter.
We are expanding our on-demand delivery service and customer base in Southern California, launching MyShoperoo Essentials in Orange County and soon other markets. Founder Krishna Vanka was selected as one of the “Most Influential Business Leaders” in the Orange County Business Journal’s 2019 OC500 annual publication and event.
Before launching MyShoperoo, Vanka was an executive at Telogis Inc., where he built the world’s fastest route optimization engine used by some of the nation’s largest fleets, a key development that led to the company’s 2016 sale to Verizon for a reported $900 million.
OC-based MyShoperoo is a graduate of the Founder Institute and part of their Select Portfolio, a designation given to the top 2% of its 4,000 member companies. The company in October was ranked the No. 6 most fundable startup in the U.S., amongst 3500, according to a lengthy assessment by Pepperdine University and The Venture Alliance.
